A community spirit is alive and thriving at Gamma-Dynacare. It’s a natural extension of our mission of "Caring for People". We wholeheartedly support community initiatives and encourage employees to be active in their individual communities.

Among the many charities to which we contribute, we take special pride in supporting:

The United Way

Region by region, United Way staff and volunteers help build caring communities and respond to a broad range of human needs on a national scale. At Gamma-Dynacare, we support our communities through fundraising activities that benefit the United Way. Activities include team competitions, raffles and silent auctions. Employees can also participate through payroll contributions.

The Pink Ribbon Campaign

This campaign helps raise community awareness of breast cancer. In addition to buying and wearing pink ribbons, on a designated day during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, many Gamma-Dynacare employees wear jeans and make an additional contribution to the fight against breast cancer.

The World Partnership Walk

Every year, Gamma-Dynacare’s Brampton employees join tens of thousands of Canadians in nine cities across the country to fight poverty in the developing world. Funds raised through the walk help to support long-term programs in health, education and rural development and strengthen community organizations in developing countries.

Project Ponytail

Founded by a Gamma-Dynacare manager in Montreal, Project Ponytail is focused on improving the quality of life of those suffering from cancer-related illnesses. In addition to arranging donations of ponytails to make wigs for chemotherapy patients, the group recently held its first major fundraiser, Bowl-for-The-Cause, raising several thousand dollars for the oncology unit of Lakeshore General Hospital and the West Island Cancer Wellness Centre.

Christie Lake Kids

For the past two years, teams of Gamma-Dynacare employees in Ottawa have raced down the water in canoes at Mooney’s Bay in the annual Enbridge Canoe for Kids event, raising thousands of dollars to benefit Christie Lake Kids. Christie Lake Kids enriches the lives and prospects of economically disadvantaged children by providing quality year-round community and camp programs to develop physical, artistic and social skills, positive attitudes and personal qualities.

Big Bike

Every spring, enthusiastic employees of Gamma-Dynacare's London laboratory hop on the Heart & Stroke Foundation's 30-seat BIG BIKE, pedalling through the community to raise funds for vital heart and stroke research.

Children’s Wish Foundation

Gamma-Dynacare staff in Winnipeg recently gathered prizes and held a silent auction to raise money for the Children’s Wish Foundation. The Children’s Wish Foundation grants wishes to children with high-risk, life-threatening illnesses and has granted more than 15,000 wishes to children over the past 25 years.

Saskatoon Crisis Nursery

Gamma-Dynacare’s Saskatoon employees have been proud supporters of the Saskatoon Crisis Nursery, a residence that provides a second home for children during a family crisis or emergency. The Crisis Nursery is sponsored by the Saskatoon Society for the Protection of Children, is managed by a volunteer Board and operates with financial assistance from Saskatchewan Social Services and donations of time and money from citizens like our caring employees in Saskatoon.
